Outpatient Substance Use Treatment: Why Choose The Brook Hospitals?

Substance use disorder impacts every aspect of your life, from your mental and physical health to your relationships and work life. Recovery isn’t a journey you have to walk alone. We are here to help you heal.

At The Brook Hospitals, we offer comprehensive outpatient substance use disorder treatment for adults. You receive personalized support and the resources you need to move forward and live a life defined by hope. We offer a substance use disorder partial hospitalization program (PHP) and a substance use disorder intensive outpatient program (IOP).

We provide structured daily support for those whose lives are significantly affected by drug or alcohol addiction. Our programs include mental health therapy along with substance use treatment (known as dual diagnosis), as well as programs centered solely on substance use disorder.

Highlights of our programs include:

  • 24/7 level of care assessments: You can call us or walk in any time for a level of care assessment. Talk with a skilled provider who listens to you and helps figure out your next steps.
  • Flexible treatment: Our outpatient programs allow you to get intensive daily therapy during the day and return to the comfort of your home each evening. You may be able to continue working while in treatment.
  • Welcoming atmosphere: You’re not alone, and we hope you feel that way when you join us. You’ll be an important part of a therapy group that shares, listens and learns together.
  • Real-world application: You can take the coping strategies you learn here and apply them to your life right away. This real-time practice can help you reinforce your sobriety.
  • Support for your long-term recovery: Sobriety is a lifelong process. We guide you at every step and help you find the appropriate next level of care for your needs, whether that’s our inpatient substance use detox treatment program, our transitional residential living house for men, weekly outpatient therapy or another option.

Our Approach to Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment

Our outpatient addiction treatment programs use a 12-step model for recovery that focuses on personal accountability and growth to maintain long-term sobriety. You’ll gain principles and skills you can apply throughout your life.

Treatment focuses on structured group therapy led by chemical dependency and mental health specialists. Participants work on daily life skills, ways to prevent relapse, how to handle conflict and coping skills.

Program requirements for both the PHP and IOP include random drug and alcohol screenings. These screenings help us make the programs as beneficial as possible for every participant. We also ask you to attend regular Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings outside of our program and get a sponsor. These steps provide ongoing support after you leave our program.
